Toast 2017 with this decadent haircare collection
New Year’s and champagne go hand in hand, and your hair can enjoy a bit of bubbly as well with Cuvée Beauty! This brand-new line features six essential products that are infused with an indulgent complex of champagne, white truffle and platinum ferment extracts plus antioxidant resveratrol, nourishing ceramides, plant proteins and natural botanicals.
In addition to shampoo and conditioner, the range also includes the rinse-out Cuvée Complex, texturizing Champagne Spray, Styling Balm, Protective Treatment and a three-piece travel kit in case you want to try the Shampoo, Conditioner and/or Styling Balm before buying the full size.
Who says you can’t start your day with a little tipple? It’s always 5 o’clock in your shower with Cuvée Beauty!
You picked a pimple… Now what?
I don’t understand how some people can restrain themselves from squeezing pimples. Personally, I’d rather walk around with a scab on my face than a big-old whitehead that’s basically screaming, “POP ME!” And that’s what usually happens. I also have to admit that I tend to pick post-pimple scabs, too (I know, I know) and this poses a problem when I try to hide the evidence with concealer. Sound familiar? Well, I picked up this little trick from one of the myriad beauty emails I receive each day, so I can’t take credit for it but I can certainly share it!
Perhaps you’ve seen those liquid bandage products in the first aid aisle at the drugstore. They’re great for small cuts and boo-boos (like after shaving) when you just don’t want to wear a Band-Aid. (In our house, we usually only have the cartoon variety, and that won’t cut it in some situations—no pun intended.) BTW, it’s also great for preventing and protecting blisters, painful hangnails and cracked cuticles and anywhere else you need extra cushioning or padding to prevent rubbing or chafing. (There are a few to choose from, but I happen to have New-Skin.)
So here’s the trick: Dab a little on a pimple after picking, and it creates a nice little film that your concealer or foundation will actually stick to. Problem solved!
Want to try new masks each month?
I’m a huge fan of beauty subscription boxes, and there’s something for everybody, whether you’re into perfume (check out Olfactif), natural/organic products (try The Clean Beauty Box) or makeup (Ipsy is a must). But if you’re into Korean products—and sheet masks in particular—you’ll flip for FaceTory, which delivers either four ($4.95/month) or seven ($14.95/month) different masks directly to your door each month. Trust me, this is a great way to get your hands on the latest K-Beauty crazes with absolutely no effort—except the time it takes to unwrap each one and place it on your face to reap a bevy of benefits from hydration, soothing, rejuvenating and more!
No, you’re not too old to play with stickers
About five years ago, someone bought my son a pack of about 1,000 teeny tiny stickers—and it’s a good thing I can’t remember who it was, because I totally hated them for it. These little smiley faces, basketballs and flowers were EVERYWHERE, and I even found another one a few weeks ago. Despite my feelings about these abhorrent adhesive torture devices, I recently came across a totally different kind of sticker, and although it pains me to admit, I kind of want them.
These Minis by Violent Lips are designed to be worn from head to toe—literally. From your face to your body and even your nails, you’ll be tempted to take these temporary tattoos for a spin. Easy to apply and easy to remove (with just a little makeup remover or oil), I can think of a bunch of places I’d like to use these—and they’re sure to be a fun activity the next time we have some kids over. I have my eye on the itty bitty stars… What about you?
