OPI "I Can Never Hut Up"
Now you can use this cult classic from head to toe
You know a product has achieved cult status when a brand leverages its success and creates additional offerings. Case in point: By Terry Baume de Rose, which has three new skincare siblings that have you covered from top to toe.
This deliciously decadent lip balm has been available in a variety of tints for quite some time, but the big news here is the introduction of a range of creams for the face, hands and body. All three feature rose-derived butters, waxes and oils to leave skin sublimely supple—and of course come along with the much-loved floral scent.
Devotees swear by the stuff (myself included), and I can’t wait to get my hands on these luxurious hydrators (no pun intended). And best of all, you can pre-order this travel set that comes with all three from Barneys!
Sip your way to younger-looking skin
When it comes to aging, I’m not going down without a fight. I have a solid skincare regimen that addresses all the main concerns like fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone, I’m also diligent about using an antioxidant serum and sunscreen every morning to protect my skin from further damage. I’ll also admit that I get some injectable help in the form of Botox every 3 months and filler every once in a while, so there isn’t much more I can do—or is there? I recently jumped on the ingestible anti-aging bandwagon, and now I start every day with Aethern.
This 28-day program involves taking one beauty “shot” a day, and you can drink it straight or mix it into any beverage. I wouldn’t exactly call it delicious but I put it in enough water so I can barely taste it, and this is honestly the most effortless way to get an extra dose of anti-aging ingredients. The formula includes collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, silicon, astaxanthin and polyphenols in addition to a slew of vitamins that work together to boost firmness, hydration levels and the appearance of lines and wrinkles while providing major antioxidant protection (and promoting healthy skin and nails, too).
I’m only on my first week, so it’s hard to say if I’m seeing results yet—but I will say I’m pleased with what I’m seeing in the mirror, whether due to Aethern or my other efforts. The clinical results show marked improvement in visible signs of aging as well as enhanced resistance to environmental damage so I’m definitely going to stick with it (it’s too easy not to).
Even more reassurance that this is serious stuff, Aethern is only available through physicians and skincare professionals—and you can find one by clicking here. So if you’re ready to take your fight against aging to the next level, cheers!
Your ‘do isn’t done without this product
You wouldn’t consider your makeup complete without a light dusting of powder or a swipe of highlighter, and your hair could use a finishing touch as well. Whether you need to smooth fuzzy ends, enhance shine or add a bit of lived-in texture so your hair doesn’t look too squeaky-clean, Ouai’s Finishing Crème is the ideal way to top off your coif.
Infused with keratin to smooth each and every hair (and prevent damage) plus artichoke leaf extract that forms a protective antioxidant layer to shield strands from color-fading UV rays, this delicately scented lotion is great for touch-ups between styling as well. Just keep in mind that this is best for fine to medium hair, but if your tresses need a bit more taming, you can step up the smoothing with Ouai’s Hair Oil, so everyone wins!
I love this eye makeup remover (and I hate eye makeup remover)
I remember the very first time I tried eye-makeup remover. As much as I wanted to get waterproof mascara off (for the record, I hate waterproof mascara, too—perhaps there’s a connection), I was not expecting or remotely enjoying the oiliness that got into my eyes and on my contacts. From that day on, I only used water-based removers, but they don’t come close to the effectiveness of their oil-packed counterparts. Then I stumbled upon a sample of NARS Gentle Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover in my medicine cabinet, and pulled it out to try the next time I piled on the eye makeup for a night out.
Don’t let the two layers fool you… This product is indeed oil-free, but based on its makeup-removing power (without the need for major rubbing), you’d never know it. The Tom Ford mascara that refuses to budge? Gone. The Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliner that stays put all night? Bye-bye. And since it’s oil-free, there’s no greasiness whatsoever. And since it contains soothing chamomile and cucumber, you won’t be seeing red (or experience any burning or stinging).
Because of this product, I am amending my earlier statement. I don’t hate eye-makeup remover anymore—as long as I have this one.
Firm, fresh skin in a flash
I have my fair share of aging concerns, but my skin’s firmness hasn’t become the subject of scrutiny (at least not yet). But never one to procrastinate, I figured I’d be proactive when I received Manuka Doctor’s Gold Dust Firming Serum—and see what all the bee-based ingredient buzz was about.
Just to rewind a bit, Manuka Doctor turns to purified bee venom, Manuka honey from New Zealand and propolis (which is essentially nutrient-packed “bee glue”) to improve a variety of skin concerns—including visible signs of aging. This particular product offers the collagen-boosting, hydrating and nourishing benefits of these hive-derived ingredients along with a dash of colloidal gold dust for instant yet subtle luminosity.
The first time I tried it, I absolutely felt a tightening sensation as the serum absorbed and my skin looked glowy and fresh—before I even started my makeup. And when I proceeded to makeup, this extra step in my skincare regimen didn’t get in the way (i.e. no pilling or residue). Bottom line: I’ll definitely be keeping this serum in the rotation in hopes that it will help maintain my skin’s firmness and perhaps improve the little age-related changes that are already on my radar.
