Bathroom staples get into the holiday spirit and Dr. Pimple Popper's addictive blackhead tool.
It's starting to feel a lot like...
It’s a fact that the “holiday season” starts earlier and earlier every year. I’ve been trying to turn a blind eye to the decorations that are already up at the mall—and the Christmas trees I’ve already seen strapped on car roofs. But with Thanksgiving tomorrow, I can officially concede defeat, because the holidays have indeed arrived. I’ll be sharing a lot of beauty-minded gift ideas over the coming weeks, and here are two small ways to start getting into the spirit (after tomorrow’s food coma subsides).
If you get a boo-boo while prepping tomorrow’s feast, why not slap on a holiday-themed Band-Aid? I’m partial to the snowman design and my son has claimed the Santas (even though we’re Jewish).
Dry shampoo may be a staple no matter the season, but Batiste has released a limited-edition “Fresh & Festive Wonderland” scent that helps your hair get into the holiday spirit. (I can’t really figure out what it smells like, but it gets the job done after a workout or a few days without washing). Another holiday-hair option is the also limited-edition Dry Shampoo Trio. If I had a stocking this would be the ultimate stuffer since I have a travel-size can in my bag at all times.
Since I’ll be taking the day off tomorrow, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and rest up for all that shopping you’re planning to do Friday (if you’re crazy enough to go to an actual store)!
A new way to get rid of stubborn blackheads for good
Sometimes all the cleansing, exfoliating and serum application in the world isn’t enough to eliminate the most tenacious of blackheads—and that’s when professional intervention in the form of properly performed extractions come in. Dermatologists generally recommend a hands-off approach to extractions at home because of the risk of injury and infection, but Dr. Sandra Lee (aka Dr. Pimple Popper) created a DIY tool that helps you get even the toughest blackheads safely and easily.
Before you hop over to the site to order one, be warned that Dr. PP’s videos of pimple-popping are quite graphic—and quite addictive if that’s your jam. After watching one you’ll either be scarred for life (definitely avoid the cysts if you’re squeamish), or be unable to stop for hours.
So these Blackhead Tweezers work similarly to the ones you use to yank stray hairs, but the pointy curved ends help you get in there and squeeze—and pull out the plug of oil, dirt and debris that creates a blackhead. And, of course, there’s a video that shows them in action…
