Dove's dry shampoo is definitely worth a try, I'm loving Replenix lash serum and a turban that protects your tresses (while throwing major retro vibes).
This new dry shampoo rocks
If I could only bring one beauty product to a deserted island (other than sunscreen), it would be dry shampoo. A daily essential even when my hair is clean, I buy Batiste by the case (seriously) on Amazon, so I rarely purchase anything else unless I run out or a new product catches my attention. In this case, I read about Dove’s Refresh+Care Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo somewhere, so I put it on my mental CVS list and got it earlier this week.
I used it for the first time this morning and all I could say was WOW! A little goes a long way and it smells amazing. It didn’t leave my hair looking white or feeling overloaded with product and it really does add volume that sticks around for hours. Ringing in around $5 (depending on where you buy it), the price is totally on-point—and you can get a pack of 10 for $35 on Amazon! Woohoo!
I think it's time for longer lashes (again)
Once upon a time, Jan Marini made this amazing (now-discontinued) eyelash serum that worked so well I actually had to stop using it. Why, you ask? Because my lashes were so long they were hitting my sunglasses, and though this might sound like a great problem to have, trust me, it was super-annoying.
Fast-forward almost 15 years and while my lashes can definitely hold their own with a coat or two of mascara (I’ve never had the need or desire for lash extensions), I received Replenix’s new PROLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum and I’m thinking it might be time to reintroduce a lash-enhancing serum into my routine. This one harnesses the power of a peptide blend that targets lashes in the growth phase to maximize length and thickness—plus silk amino acids and hyaluronic acid to condition and fortify each and every lash.
Maybe it’s too much to ask for lashes that hit the lenses of my glasses again, but a little extra length and fullness never hurt anyone, right?
The chic way to shield your hair from damage
I have a thing for head coverings… From hats and scarves to even turbans (when my husband isn’t around), it’s the easiest way to make a fashion statement—and perfect for hiding a bad hair day or the fact that you’re overdue for a color appointment. For some women, a silk scarf is also their secret for preventing breakage, split ends and moisture loss while maintaining curl shape, and many wouldn’t even think about getting into bed without one. (Did you see last week’s This is Us?)
I happen to have a rather large collection of vintage scarves, so I literally have one that works for every outfit, occasion or set of pajamas—but if you don’t, check out SILKE London’s Silk Hair Wrap. I love the turban-like style (so much that I may have to buy the black one to actually wear out of the house), and since it has elastic to help it stay put you don’t have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night with a knot digging into your head.
But back to wearing a turban outside of the bedroom… If this photo of Bianca Jagger at Studio 54 isn’t enough to convince you of its perpetual chicness, I don’t know what is. Who’s with me?
