The joy of not having to wear a real bra (and the ones I'm eyeing) and a hair hack for that Zoom meeting you just can't turn your camera off for.
On the bright side: Boob edition
Throughout this whole social-distancing/stay-at-home situation, I’ve only worn a “real” bra three or four times (max) in the last two weeks. A majority of my time is spent in a sports bra or one of my “sleep” bras, and believe me, I’m not complaining. Though I don’t personally feel comfortable hanging loose around the house, I have amazing news for those of you who do…
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has long believed that not wearing a bra can lead to sagging (having babies certainly doesn’t help)—but we may have been wrong all this time. According to this article from Well + Good, here are the potential upsides of going bra-less:
With time, your chest and back muscles may step up to support your breasts—potentially making them rounder and perkier
Less constriction can increase blood circulation and ease back pain
Less irritation from friction and rubbing where your bra sits on the skin
Being more comfortable—PERIOD
For those of you who are on the larger breast side, it’s very possible that you’re physically uncomfortable without some support—but there are plenty of comfortable wireless options that are perfect for sheltering from home. Check out these from Lively, ThirdLove and Amazon(!)…
Stay healthy and comfy!
My Zoom meeting hair hack
I’m back… I’ve been busy with work so far this week (thank G-d) and haven’t had time for much else—but truth be told, I wish I was sitting at my dining room table working on the 1,000-piece puzzle that I ordered two weeks ago but haven’t even gotten around to opening.
Today’s agenda includes a Zoom meeting for a project I’m working on, and although I generally join by audio only, I feel the need to show my face today. The only problem (other than another massive zit—this time on my forehead) is that I washed my hair yesterday and didn’t do anything more than put it in a ponytail. In need of a quick fix for my wildly frazzled ends, I reached for my DAFNI go heated brush (see my original review here) and within a few minutes it looked like I had actually blown out my hair. From there I used one drop (seriously, one drop) of Virtue Labs’ Split End Serum and voila, I was ready for my meeting. I just hope the other attendees don’t mind that I’m wearing workout gear. At this point we all know you’re wearing sweatpants or yoga pants, even if you make the effort to put on a cute top, right?
