Happy World Sleep Day!
Small changes or additions to your bedtime routine can add up to enhance the quality of your slumber.
In case you haven’t heard, today is World Sleep Day, and I’ll confess I have a love-hate relationship with the nocturnal rejuvenation process—in that I love sleep when I get it, and hate it when I don’t. I’ve pretty much tried everything in an effort to catch more (and higher-quality) ZZZs, including the Oura ring, which tells me when to go to sleep and gives me a quality score next morning. (Let’s just say it’s less-than-optimal most of the time.)
Since I knew this “holiday” was coming, I gathered a few sleep-enhancing products that have caught my attention recently, and hopefully they can help you get more out of your night.
The CurrentBody Dr. Harris Anti-Wrinkle Sleep Mask
This innovative mask takes a three-pronged approach to maximizing your beauty sleep. First and foremost, it blocks out light but that’s obviously not the revolutionary part. No joke, this luxurious silk eye mask has been clinically proven to reduce the look of wrinkles in 15 minutes—and actually help you feel more relaxed when you wear it. How? The inside of the mask has little silicone dots that rest on the mechano-receptors of the skin, in turn sending messages to your brain, crow’s feet, “11’s” and forehead wrinkles telling them to relax.
Noble Panacea Chronobiology Sleep Mask
I’d be remiss if I didn’t include a skincare treatment in this round-up, and this newcomer doesn’t mess around. Designed for use once or twice a week (or to prep for an event), its patented OSMV ingredient-delivery system was developed by a Nobel Prize-winning chemist (and I’m not aware of any other skincare lines that can say this). Long story short, the formula features poly-hydroxy acids, retinol, peptides, ceramides and hyaluronic acid, and works in synergy with the skin’s natural regeneration and self-repair. (If you’re a skin geek and so inclined, you can actually see the specific times these ingredients take action on the skin under the “Active Ingredients” tab on the product webpage.) There’s so much more to love about this brand, from their technology to their recycling efforts—I just wish I could afford it!
DOTE Dream supplement
It’s been a while since I’ve taken a CBD supplement, but I think it’s time to start again. This comprehensive option combines CBD, CBN, melatonin, valerian root, GABA, chamomile, hops extract, L-theanine and 5-HTP to send you off to dreamland—and keep you there. It’s designed to promote a healthy sleep pattern and full-body relaxation for the best rest you can get. Sign me up!
How are you commemorating World Sleep Day? I say we all celebrate with a nap!
