My latest batch of empties
There are reasons why I used every last drop of these products, and I'm sharing them with you!
In the past, I’ve simply posted shots of empties on my Instagram, tagged the brands and types of products and called it a day. But as part of IBB 2.0 (or is it 3.0?), my paid subscribers get all the deets! If you’re even the slightest bit curious about any of the above products, subscribe now…
Indie Lee Purifying Face Wash
Truth be told, this was a total impulse buy at the height of my housekeeper-less pandemic panic. I was stockpiling my favorite Method Antibac All-Purpose Cleaner—and I needed to beef up my cart to meet the order minimum since there was a limit on the number I could buy. It turned out to be a fantastic purchase, and I came to rely on this gently-foaming “clean” cleanser every morning (with my Foreo) because it delivers a refreshing sensation. Beyond helping to wake up my face, it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth (not tight or uncomfortable).
Beauty Pie Dr. Glycolic Pore-Purifying Glow Toner
This is actually the THIRD bottle that I’ve bought since my husband is hooked on it, too. I get the (almost) 10% glycolic acid I love along with a dash of other fruit-derived acids and niacinamide—all for $17. (The “typical price” would be $40, so you know this toner is good stuff.) It’s the perfect excuse for becoming a Beauty Pie member, and be sure to stock up on the Clean House candles, too.
Saie Slip Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Tinted Moisturizer
I’m on my second tube of this incredible tinted moisturizer. Obviously it’s great for lightweight coverage (plus sun protection) and a dewy finish when running around during the day. I’ve basically given up on foundation and use it when I’m going out after-dark, too, especially when paired with my next “empty”…
Saie Glowy Super Gel in “Starglow”
I never really jumped on the highlighter bandwagon, but I suppose this illuminating multitasker counts. I couldn’t imagine it not being part of my makeup routine, and I bought bottle #2 as soon as I noticed I was running low on my first. You can use it as a radiance-enhancing primer, mix it into your Saie Slip Tint (or any foundation for that matter) or dab a little on your cheekbones, bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow to look lit from within. I’ve turned at least 10 ladies on to it, and they continue to thank me again and again.
Kosasport Chemistry Deodorant
I’m constantly asked for clean deodorant suggestions, and I tried too many to count when I decided to give aluminum-based antiperspirants the heave-ho a few years ago. This is the one I’ve stuck (and definitely not stunk) with, and although I get a lot of side-eye when I mention it’s roll-on, I promise it dries quickly and never leaves marks on my clothes. I use the scented version (but I can barely smell it), and Kosas offers a fragrance-free option for those who are sensitive to any sort of scent.
Surratt Lash Tint
I originally bought this for nostalgic reasons, because it reminded me of the Helena Rubenstein metal-wand mascara my Nana used (and I played with) many, many moons ago. I absolutely loved, loved, loved this mascara. I’ve been blessed with naturally long lashes, and just a few passes yields a wispy, fan-like effect. If you like a more dramatic mascara moment, this isn’t for you, but if you like a more subtle finish, get this—now.
