Shop for skincare based on climate
What would happen if you took skin types and concerns out of the equation?
When searching for skincare, we put most of our emphasis on skin type and the issues we want to fix (such as wrinkles, dark spots, sagging, etc.). There’s nothing wrong with this, as it makes sense to tailor your routine to your skin’s unique needs, but have you ever stopped to think about the effects that your climate may have on the state of your skin—and how you may need to counterbalance them?
Pour Moi Skincare takes a “Climate-Smart” approach to skincare, and carefully considers temperature, humidity, elevation and other factors into consideration. All you have to do is enter your zip code in the Cream-Finder (or allow the site to access your location). For example, today’s 79-degree weather with 66% humidity (apparently) warrants the Temperate Day Cream for Mild & Comfy Weather—although I’m willing to bet that I’d need the Tropical Day Cream for Hot & Humid Weather come August.
The other options include day creams for Desert, Mountain, Polar and Marine—and considering the weather changes seasonally (or even more often than that in some places), you may want to have a few on hand. (Another cool feature of Pour Moi is that if you have multiple day creams, you can scan the QR code on any of the lids to find out which one to use at that very moment based on the weather outside.)
If you to take this climate-based skincare approach even further, you can enter your U.S. region and get a 3-Step Rotating System that includes a Hydrating Balancer, Serum and the two day cream options that are best suited for your location.
These products aren’t just for when you’re sticking around your hometown. If travel does a number on your skin, you can always get a dedicated product (or system) for your destination. And for the record, all of the products are made in France—and ideal for all skin types, ages, ethnicities, and genders. They’re also clean, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, vegan and cruelty-free formula (Leaping Bunny certified).
I’m always intrigued by a completely new approach to skincare, and Pour Moi has two patents, and was named one of Time magazine’s Best Inventions of 2020. (The fact that none of us were straying far from home possibly had something to do with that).
