Are we there yet? (As in the end of the pandemic.) It certainly feels like 677 days have passed since the world shut down in March 2020 and I started the mind-numbing marathon that would be home-schooling for the last few months of 5th grade and all of 6th (and dealing with everything else). The first day of in-person 7th grade may have been one of the best days of my (and my son’s) life—but as luck would have it, I’m right back where we started.
Yup, my son has Covid—but somehow, someway, I’m still negative four days, numerous car rides and lots of hugs and kisses after his symptom (singular) appeared. Fortunately his infection amounted to nothing more than two days of a stuffy nose, but he is not allowed to go back to school for TEN days since his symptoms started, which takes us to the end of next week. He could go back with a negative PCR test before then, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. (Am I allowed to day-drink again?)
Although I may not be using Clorox wipes to clean the groceries delivered to my doorstep (and arms) anymore, I’ve made a major dent in my stockpile of Lysol and hand sanitizer since the weekend. And if I could go back in time (and it were available then), I would have hoarded Touchland’s Glow Mist.
In a first (at least to my extensive product knowledge), this moisture-infused hand sanitizer serves up the power to kill 99.99% of germs AND (wait for it) anti-aging benefits—because you know you check the backs of your hands for spots from time to time. Consider these ingredient descriptions pulled from Touchland’s site:
Detoskin™ is an active fraction from the roots of "Paeonia lactiflora Pall" and trehalose combined in a medium of glycerin and water. It detoxifies and rejuvenates the skin removing damaged mitochondria by mitophagy. Boosts “clean energy” via a sustainable cellular mechanism. Decreases the anisotropy making the skin tone more homogeneous to regain a youthful glow. It protects skin from blue light.
Vitasource: is a purified fraction obtained from roots of Scutellaria baicalensis and standardized in baicalin which delays cellular senescence and recovers characteristics that skin cells had 10 years earlier. It increases skin firmness, elasticity and activity and rejuvenates the skin’s appearance.
The only available scent at the moment is “Rosewater” (a blend of rose petals and black currant) and that’s just fine with me. Moisture, renewed radiance and 500 sprays per bottle? I’m so in—and the fact that Touchland also offers “accessories” like keyring cases, lanyards and clip-on pouches totally seals the deal. (Just don’t forget the daily sunscreen, because that’s the number-one way to prevent age-related changes on your hands and everywhere else.)
