My non-New Year’s resolution was to incorporate more “add-on” treatments into my skincare routine, and so far it seems to have stuck! I’ve actually remembered to apply a mask post-workout/pre-shower several times, and two have been on repeat.
First is Natura Bissé’s C+C Vitamin Soufflé Mask. Formulated with vitamin C and antioxidants to enhance firmness and luminosity in just 15 minutes (which is the perfect amount of time to put laundry away or empty the dishwasher), I love, love, love the light citrus scent that reminds me of baby aspirin every time. Side note: At $52, this is one of the less expensive ways to get in on the indulgent luxury that is Natura Bissé.
The other is Pixi Beauty’s Glow O2 Oxygen Mask, which is basically like a party for your face. It goes on as a light gel and quickly transforms to a tickly layer of bubbles that literally breathes new life into dull, tired skin. This one only takes 2-3 minutes (so no time for chores), making it perfect for morning use—and you should definitely try it for a skin pick-me-up before putting on makeup for a night out.
Perhaps you noticed that neither or these masks are of the exfoliating variety. That’s because I’m afraid to overdo it while using my glycolic-heavy SkinCeuticals nighttime regimen. I mean, I really don’t think there are any more dead skin cells left to slough. However, I am rather enjoying going through my days with a fresh-faced glow, even if I’m not going anywhere. And I’ve come to appreciate how much easier it is to remove a mask in the shower as opposed to making a giant mess of my bathroom countertop.
